The best book I ever read was called The Dogs Purpose. There was a female lab and she had all four of her puppies right by her side. One day the pound found all of them and then took them to a house where a lot of other animals were staying. the mom met a new friend. The puppies were separated from her after two to three days so one night she dug a deep hole in the ground and crawled out of the fence and ran far away from that house so then she went looking for her puppies. One of them past away when the pound came because they ran over him on accident. At the end she found all of her puppies and they found a really nice family to live with.
